Job Description:
As a Data Engineer at IBM, you will leverage the power of data to uncover patterns, drive insight, and support business transformation. You'll work with both structured and unstructured data to support real-time and batch processing, helping clients make informed decisions. This role involves collaboration across disciplines to design robust data pipelines, manage data integration, and develop intelligent analytics solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and manage scalable data pipelines for batch and real-time processing.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to determine appropriate data management systems and key data sources.

Solve challenges related to data integration and work with unstructured data sets.

Implement and validate predictive models, and maintain statistical and machine learning models, focusing on big data environments.

Design and implement enterprise search applications such as Elasticsearch and Splunk based on client requirements.

Develop Proof of Concepts (POCs) to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of AI and analytics solutions.

Contribute to code generation, code matching, and translation using Generative AI tools and LLMs.

Document solution architecture, design decisions, implementation strategies, and key learnings.

Stay current with emerging technologies in AI, machine learning, foundation models, and large language models.

Support agile and collaborative project teams that include scientists, engineers, and consultants to address analytical challenges.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

Strong background in POC development for AI-driven or data-driven solutions.

Experience with predictive analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling.

Familiarity with tools such as Elasticsearch, Splunk, and big data platforms.

Understanding of Gen AI tools for code refactoring, code translation, and documentation.

Ability to document and communicate solution architecture and implementation details effectively.

Deep interest in emerging technologies including AI, foundation models, and LLMs.
