Job Description:
As an Associate Data Scientist at IBM, you will leverage cutting-edge tools and methodologies?including Python, R, TensorFlow, and IBM?s AI application suites?to analyze complex data, deliver insights, and build intelligent solutions. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to solve real-world business problems through predictive modeling, data engineering, and machine learning.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and validate predictive and prescriptive models using big data and machine learning techniques.

Build and maintain statistical models to forecast business trends and outcomes.

Write reusable and efficient programs for data cleansing, transformation, and integration.

Collaborate in Agile, cross-functional teams including engineers, consultants, and DBAs.
-
Apply analytical rigor to identify trends, behaviors, and insights from structured and unstructured data.

Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into data science solutions.

Communicate modeling techniques and results to technical and non-technical audiences.

Support Proof of Concept (PoC) development for AI solutions, including Gen AI-based code assistants.

Document solution architecture, design choices, implementation processes, and key takeaways
Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

Experience developing Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for AI/ML solutions.

Strong foundation in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling.

Ability to build rapid prototypes and showcase Gen AI solutions, such as code refactoring from COBOL to Java.

Experience in documenting solution designs, workflows, and technical decisions.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

Strong programming skills in Python.

Experience with AI/ML libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Hugging Face.

Familiarity with Python libraries such as scikit-learn, Pandas, Matplotlib.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud).

Knowledge of COBOL and Java programming.

Hands-on experience with PySpark and big data processing tools is an added advantag
