Job Description:
We are hiring an AI Data Scientist specialized in foundation models and large language models (LLMs). This role involves architecting and delivering cutting-edge AI solutions using platforms like watsonx, AWS Sagemaker, Azure OpenAI, and leveraging tools such as GitHub Copilot and Amazon CodeWhisperer. You will work closely with clients, product managers, and development teams to design custom AI solutions addressing complex business challenges, including code translation and rapid prototyping.
Responsibilities:

Proof of Concept (POC) Development: Build POCs to validate AI solutions and iterate with development teams to meet client requirements.

Code Translation & Automation: Showcase the ability of Gen AI code assistants to refactor, rewrite, and document code (e.g., COBOL to Java).

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Document architectures, design decisions, and implementation details; create white papers, best practice guides, and mentor new team members.

Industry Trends & Innovation: Stay updated with AI, foundation models, and LLM advancements; evaluate emerging tools, frameworks, and technologies for potential solution adoption.
Required Technical & Professional Expertise:

Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or Hugging Face.

Familiarity with Python libraries such as scikit-learn, Pandas, Matplotlib, etc.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes) is a plus.

Working knowledge in COBOL & Java is preferred.

Experience in code generation, code matching, and code translation leveraging LLM capabilities (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer).

Optional: Experience with Python + PySpark.

Proven experience in designing and delivering AI solutions, focusing on foundation models and LLMs.

Exposure to open-source AI tools and frameworks.

Experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and text analytics.

Understanding of machine learning and deep learning algorithms.

Strong track record in scientific publications or open-source contributions.

Experience in full AI project lifecycle, from research and prototyping to production deployment.
