  We are seeking a Data Engineer at IBM to harness the power of data for uncovering insights and patterns. You will work on data gathering, storage, batch and real-time processing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement robust, scalable data solutions.

  Responsibilities:

  • Implement and validate predictive and prescriptive models, creating and maintaining statistical models with a focus on big data.

  • Design and implement enterprise search applications such as Elasticsearch and Splunk to meet client requirements.

  • Work in an Agile, collaborative environment, partnering with scientists, engineers, consultants, and database administrators.

  • Build programs to cleanse and integrate data efficiently for analytics and modeling purposes.

  • Develop proof of concept (POC) solutions to validate AI and data-driven initiatives.

  • Assist in showcasing Gen AI code assistant capabilities to refactor, rewrite, and document code across languages.

  • Document solution architectures, design decisions, implementation details, and lessons learned.

  • Stay updated on AI, foundation models, and large language model trends.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks for potential impact on solution design and implementation.

  Skills Required:

  Core Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with data integration, cleansing, and processing for batch and real-time systems.

  • Knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques for big data.

  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise search solutions like Elasticsearch and Splunk.

  • Proficiency in developing proof of concept (POC) solutions and showcasing technical feasibility.

  • Strong documentation skills for solution architecture and implementation.

  Preferred / Good to Have:

  • Working knowledge of COBOL and Java.

  • Experience in code generation, code matching, and code translation using large language model (LLM) capabilities.

  • Familiarity with Gen AI tools and AI solution development best practices.
