Job Description

• Position Overview:We are looking for a skilled and proactive Network Engineer to join our growing IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our network infrastructure to ensure the optimal performance and security of our organization's systems and services.The Network Engineer will work closely with other IT professionals to support our network operations, optimize performance, and resolve technical issues while adhering to best practices for network security and reliability.
  Key Responsibilities:
  Network Design & Implementation:
  • Plan, design, and implement local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and cloud-based network solutions.
  • Configure and deploy routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices.
  • Participate in network architecture planning, scaling, and optimization efforts.
  • Network Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
  • Monitor and maintain network performance, ensuring reliability, availability, and speed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues (e.g., connectivity, performance degradation, hardware failures).
  • Perform regular network assessments to identify and address any vulnerabilities or inefficiencies.
  Security Management:
  • Implement and maintain network security protocols such as VPNs, firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).
  • Apply security patches and updates to network devices, and ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Assist with the investigation and resolution of security incidents.
  Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed documentation for network configurations, diagrams, troubleshooting procedures, and other technical specifications.
  • Create and update network monitoring and performance reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  Collaboration & Support:
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to support network-related needs for software deployments, cloud migrations, and other IT projects.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams and end users regarding network issues.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation to ensure timely resolution of network-related issues.
  Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay up to date with the latest network technologies, trends, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the network infrastructure.
  Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, etc.).
  • Proficient with network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
  • Familiarity with VPNs, remote access technologies, and network security protocols (e.g., IPSec, SSL, MPLS).
  • Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SD-WAN is a plus.
  Certifications:
  • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent certification is required.
  • CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or equivalent certifications are preferred.
  • Network Security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP) are a plus.
  Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to work.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to work flexible hours and participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.
