Infosys is hiring experienced PostgreSQL DBA Developers with 3 to 8 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in PostgreSQL database administration, performance tuning, and database development, along with a strong understanding of enterprise-level database environments.
Responsibilities:
Design, install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases for high availability and reliability.
Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.
Create and manage database schemas, tables, indexes, and stored procedures.
Implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity.
Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, replication, and locking issues.
Collaborate with application developers to optimize SQL queries and database structures.
Implement security measures, including role-based access control and data encryption.
Support migration activities from legacy databases to PostgreSQL.
Participate in requirement gathering, solution design, and deployment activities as part of project delivery.
Contribute to POC development, research on new tools, and process improvement initiatives.
Key Skills:
Mandatory Skills: PostgreSQL Database Administration and Development.
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL 10+ versions, PL/pgSQL, and database replication.
Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.
Strong understanding of database backup/recovery strategies and high availability setups (e.g., streaming replication, failover).
Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
Experience with database monitoring tools (e.g., pgAdmin, Prometheus, Grafana).
Strong knowledge of SQL and procedural programming in PostgreSQL.
Good understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
