Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database design, implementation, optimization, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise applications on PostgreSQL. This role involves collaborating with consulting and development teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of databases.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in production and non-production environments.
Monitor database performance, implement tuning strategies, and ensure optimal query execution.
Perform regular database backups, recovery, replication, and high-availability setup.
Diagnose and troubleshoot database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
Work closely with consulting and project teams in:
Problem definition, effort estimation, and solution design.
Requirement analysis and creation of functional/technical specifications.
Deployment of database solutions and product configuration.
Conduct research, build Proof of Concepts (POCs), and evaluate new tools/technologies.
Ensure data security, compliance, and integrity through proper policies and audits.
Contribute to organizational initiatives, best practices, and process improvements.

Mandatory Skills:
Strong expertise in PostgreSQL Database Administration
Technical Skills:
PostgreSQL installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
Performance tuning and query optimization.
Backup, recovery, replication (Streaming, Logical, Physical).
High Availability (HA) & Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
Database security, user management, and access control.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS RDS, Azure PostgreSQL, GCP Cloud SQL) is a plus.
Soft Skills:

Ability to work in a consulting/client-facing environment.
