Job Description:
As a member of the Infosys Consulting team, your primary role will be to contribute across the full lifecycle of database development?from requirement gathering and solution design to implementation and optimization?using PostgreSQL. You will be a critical part of delivering reliable, scalable, and high-performing database solutions to support client applications and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into robust PostgreSQL database solutions.
Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
Work closely with the application development team to integrate database logic into application code.
Evaluate and improve existing PostgreSQL queries for performance and scalability.
Perform impact analysis and suggest efficient solutions when addressing change requests or issues.
Research and compare alternative solutions through literature reviews and vendor documentation; build Proof of Concepts (PoCs) as needed.
Assist in defining data models and implementing data migration, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
Participate in unit-level and organization-level process improvement initiatives to enhance overall project delivery quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven hands-on experience in PostgreSQL development, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
Strong understanding of relational database design, indexing, partitioning, and data integrity constraints.
Experience working with large datasets and high-throughput environments.
Familiarity with integration tools and methods (e.g., APIs, ETL frameworks).
Exposure to Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
Good communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
