As a PostgreSQL Developer in the Infosys Consulting team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining database solutions for enterprise-scale applications. You will be part of a collaborative team involved in full lifecycle activities?from requirement gathering to deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with consulting teams across project phases, including problem definition, effort estimation, diagnosis, solution design, and deployment.
Design and develop efficient, scalable PostgreSQL databases, including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
Perform query optimization, performance tuning, and indexing strategies to ensure optimal database performance.
Analyze and explore solution alternatives by conducting research, literature review, and vendor analysis, and build Proof of Concepts (POCs).
Translate business requirements into technical specifications, define to-be database processes, and prepare detailed data models and ER diagrams.
Conduct data migration, integration, and transformation using PostgreSQL features and tools.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective fixes.
Contribute to unit-level and organizational-level initiatives for quality improvements and innovation.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Proven experience in PostgreSQL database design and development.
Strong understanding of SQL performance tuning, PL/pgSQL, and database best practices.
Experience with ETL processes, data modeling, and migration strategies.
Familiarity with cloud-based PostgreSQL deployments (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL) is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
