Ford Motor Company is seeking a Customer Identity Front-End Developer and Platform Engineer to develop and support secure, scalable customer identity and access management (CIAM) solutions using Azure AD B2C. This role focuses on the visual front-end experience, platform development, and operational excellence in line with Ford?s identity strategy. You?ll collaborate with business stakeholders, cybersecurity teams, application teams, and global partners to create secure, user-friendly experiences that meet Ford?s digital transformation goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Development & Engineering
Design, develop, and maintain customer-facing UI experiences using JavaScript (ES5/ES6), HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, jQuery.
Maintain and enhance the visual presentation of user journeys based on Ford?s UI Design specifications.
Integrate with and consume RESTful APIs efficiently.
Engineer solutions in compliance with Ford InfoSec, architecture, and development standards.
Develop and maintain automation tests and participate in the full CI/CD lifecycle using modern pipelines.
Identity & Access Management
Implement and manage OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, PKCE, SSO, scopes, tokens, and claims.
Contribute to the ongoing CIAM strategy and roadmap for Ford?s customer identity platform on Azure AD B2C.
Apply accessibility best practices (WCAG), data governance (GDPR), and security compliance.
Operational Support & Documentation
Provide 24/7 platform support in a rotational on-call model (incident, outage, and performance monitoring).
Troubleshoot, collaborate, and resolve technical issues in a fast-paced, global environment.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, onboarding guides, code standards, etc.
Collaboration & Agile Practices
Partner with product owners, designers, developers, and business teams to ensure customer needs are met.
Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, retros, planning) and promote software delivery excellence.
Contribute to platform improvement initiatives, innovation efforts, and bug resolution.
Technical Skills (3?5 years minimum):
JavaScript (ES5, ES6), jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, SCSS
JavaScript bundlers like Webpack or Gulp
Version control with Git/GitHub
Experience integrating REST APIs
Cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, and performance tuning
Familiarity with Regex for string processing
UI development knowledge aligned with WCAG accessibility standards
IAM & Security Knowledge:
Understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SSO, PKCE, tokens and claims
Exposure to Azure AD B2C or similar CIAM platforms
Knowledge of GDPR, data governance, and secure coding practices
Testing & Support:
Experience with automation and manual testing
Ability to support CI/CD environments and agile workflows
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills
